Bay High School welcomed prospective students and families on January 29 for AICE Open House, offering an inside look at the Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Program and the many academic opportunities available to future Tornadoes.
The evening began with an informational session in the Barbara Nelson Fine Arts Building, where attendees learned about the structure of the AICE program, college credit opportunities, scholarship benefits, and the academic support systems in place to help students succeed. Student presenters highlighted the program’s rigorous coursework, emphasis on critical thinking, and strong college and career readiness outcomes.
Following the presentation, families got to participate in guided campus tours where they visited ELA, history, math, and science classrooms to experience AICE instruction firsthand. Teachers shared curriculum highlights, demonstrated classroom activities, and answered questions about course expectations and student support. Visitors also had the opportunity to see Bay High’s state-of-the-art facilities, including collaborative learning spaces and specialized academic labs.
Students currently enrolled in the AICE program assisted with tours, offering personal insight, extracurricular involvement, and academic growth. Their involvement helped families gain a realistic and student-centered perspective on life in the AICE program at Bay High.
“We loved being able to showcase the incredible opportunities our AICE students have every day,” said AICE student and Senior Class President Catherine Heaton. “It was exciting to meet future Tornadoes and help families see how the AICE program prepares students for college, careers, and leadership.”
If you missed the first open house night, don't worry-- Bay High School will offer another opportunity for prospective students to learn more about the AICE program on February 10th at 6pm. We are also offering AICE Shadow Days! Students who would like to participate can use the QR code to sign up for February 12th or 18th.
